How we work

As you weigh your options, you’ll find that many law firms follow similar processes, even though there are crucial differences in some of them.

We explain you ours, step-by-step.

Initial consultation

The First step is to contact us in order to set up a consultation. This consultation can be done via phone, conference call or email if you are abroad or in-person if you reside in Spain. We take our client care very seriously and will always advise you of all the available options for funding your case.

Our goal is simple: To establish, as quickly as possible, whether you have a legal claim that’s likely to succeed

h

Services proposal

Once the initial consultation has been made, we will confirm the estimated fees and our solicitors’ charge-out rates and the scope of work in a written engagement letter, which we will ask you to sign and return to us.

If for any reason our original estimate has to be amended, we will notify you and obtain your consent before the further work is undertaken. This way you will not have any unexpected cost.

j

Representation

Once the letter of engagement is accepted and Bianqui Pons Abogados agrees to represent you, you gain a legal champion.

As your case progresses, we’ll keep you informed with regular check-ins. If you must appear in a courtroom or other formal setting, we’ll prepare you carefully. And while we’ll offer you lots of advice, we’ll always give you options and defer to your judgment. You’re in charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are you fees?
It depends on the complexity of the case but we will let you now our fees in advance. Our clients know about the likely costs of a case and are always kept fully up-to-date with costs. You should not allow worry about potential costs to deter you from obtaining professional advice, even if you live overseas.

What is the paying method? Can I pay by instalments?
Yes, the payment is agreed with the client in the letter of engagement and varies depending on the case and the client circumstances

Is it possible to assess my claim on a Conditional Fee Agreement?
Yes, it is possible to assess your claim on a Conditional Fee Agreement, commonly called a ‘No Win, No Fee’ agreement if you have your residency in Spain. This means there is no financial risk to you.

A No Win, No Fee agreement is an arrangement between you and your Solicitor which means that if your compensation claim is not successful, your Solicitor is not paid for the work they have done

I live outside Spain. Can you provide me your legal servicies?

Of course, The internet and ease of international travel make it far easier than ever before for all of us to have business interests in many different countries across the globe.

It is always harder to run into an international legal issue due to language barriers, cultural differences and different law.

Bianqui Pons Abogados gives you expert advice to help you with your spanish legal issue even if you live  abroad.

Do I have to go to Spain to hire you?
No, It is unnecessary. Everything can be done by mail and email (sending documents, signing the Letter of engagement etc..) so there is no need to come here to hire a solicitor but if you wish to come here and meet us, we will be delighted to have a meeting with you.
Will I need to attend court?
If there is no settlement after the parties have complied with the Protocol then court proceedings would need to be issued. It usually takes more than ten months (depending on the value and complexity of the matter) for a claim to reach trial after court proceedings have been issued. If the claim does reach trial then it is expected that the claimant and any key witnesses would be called to give oral evidence. This of course can include you but there are several times that your presence is not requested so you will not have to come to Spain and attend court.
